Every full time wife and mother needs a space of her own. And mine would be our home office. It's where I home school our daughters; manage bills and finances; create new designs and blog for you. But it can't be all work and no play. It's where I can lock the doors and getaway from the kids and the husband for an hour or two and just enjoy me time. Well at least sometimes it works. So, I added a cute and comfy tv corner just for me and my green plants. Yeah right! Where ever I go....the kids are sure to follow. Being an Interior Decorator, my styles tends to be unique and a little all over the place, but it at the end, it all works well together. Some designers would call that eclectic. I just call it doing me. In this particular design I created a little nostalgia with a transitional style. The 90's green is back and I'm loving it! Which is very ironic, because my mother wore us out with this color in our home when I was a teenager. And we tease her all the time about it even to this day. But now! I got the green fever. A little over a year ago I found a beautiful round and tufted velvet ottoman and fell in love with it. Found it at Homegoods on sale for only $50. Needless to say, it came home with me that day. So, I used this green ottoman as my design inspiration and started adding elements that represents me as a wife, mother and a classy chik. To make it personal, I added wall art that was purchased on a family trip to Mexico, which is a hand painting of a bull. I'm a Taurus, so it represents me fully. I have decorative frames adorned with photos of our lovely daughters, and me and my husband on our 17th wedding anniversary. Which was last year by the way. We recently celebrated our 18th in April. And other personal trinkets like Mother's Day cards that I have kept over the years. So, without further ado, here are some photos of my current office design. Hope it inspires you!
